Hb 5.5 can be increased with diet ??
My sister 23 yrs...was just recovered from covid. When she was having covid and cbc test done we came to know her hb is 4.9 then she had blood transfusion with that her hb increased to 5.4. now she is covid negative. She is having good diet overall as per anemic. Having iron supplement also. Can HB increased with good diet at home without blood transfusion??

Ideally blood transfusion is the solution.. Next best  is Iron -sucrose injection,To increase her hemoglobin level ..

reason for low hemoglobin needs to be evaluated , it can be due to menstrual causes like menorrhagia, worm infestation or poor dietary habits

Its too low.once its above 6 or 7 it may be safer to go for oral iron.diet alone will not be sufficient at this stage.

It entirely depends on what is the cause of the anemia. Further tests including anemia profile, LFT are required, and stool and urine examination may be required as per the results of these tests to define the cause of anemia.
