Grinding teeth cavity and dental implant
Hello, I got cavity in my grinding teeth and it's almost gone just left with a layer. And cavity is in the initial stage of left side grinding teeth. I would like to have them removed and go for dental implant. Please advise what would be the approximate cost and how long the implant process would be? Also advise does cavity occur even on artificial tooth?

Hello !
Bruxism/night grinding is a common issue that could be triggered a multitude of reasons.
1.stress/anxiety
2.high restoration / your bite not adjusted after restoration
Remember the priority should be that your natural tooth needs to be always saved. Removal of tooth and placement of implant should only be undertaken if the tooth is beyond repair.
An implant is a surgical procedure and would require a time span of atleast 3-4 months. It costs varies from 18k-40k depending on the company you decide on.
Next Steps
my advise to you would be :-
1. get a permanent restoration
2. adjust occlusion/your bite
3. find underlying cause to your problem of grinding
4. wear a night guard /splint to prevent further deterioration of teeth.

If the cavity or decay is in the initial stages, removing the tooth and replacing with an implant should not be your first line of treatment. A simple restoration will solve the problem.
If the tooth is unsaveable, due to severe decay then an extraction and implant is suggested. The implant procedure takes around 3-4 months to complete with a total of 4-5 sittings in that time frame. The cost varies based on the expertise of your doctor.
An artificial tooth or crown does not get decayed but the underlying tooth or gum can get infected if not maintained
