Gouty arthritis
Hello doctor, whenever my uric acid goes past 6.8 i develop stiffness and swelling in my foot joints, medicine for a month brings it back to normal but again gouty arthritis returns after two months or so, i wanted to know is febuxostat 40mg medicine safe to be taken on need basis for a month?

Yes, and uric medicines should be taken for longtime and not on a SOS basis.
They are pretty safe.
Although, renal monitoring should be done every 2 months.

Instead of medicine,you can keep the Uric acid under control by a disciplined diet.
