Hi, I am 8 months pregnant and my doctor suggested for Glucose Challenge Test for which I got the result as 157. My doctor suggested me Glycomet 500 mg tab as medication. Is it compulsory to use this medication.

Above 140 Mg/dl following 75 Mg oral glucose tolerance test is gestational diabetes mellitus.
First line of management is diet and exercise, if not controlled then we start with Metformin, if further not controlled then we add insulin.
Next Steps
If your tolerating Metformin there is no harm in continuing the medication along with optimal diet and exercise.
