Swollen gums are due to many reasons -
1) not so good oral hygiene which includes improper brushing techniques due to which bacteria is not removed properly from teeth, tongue
2) hormonal changes that take place in a body
3) smoking, tobacco
4) vitamic C and calcium deficiency
And many other causes
Kindly get in touch with your dentist to rule out any of the underlying factors and be advised for the same .

1)Improve your brushing technique
2)use mouthwash and
3) Do warm saline rinses 2-3 times in a day

The clinical signs of gum inflammation include swollen gums, bleeding from the gums, pocket formation and altered taste sensation. All the symptoms might or might not be present in the same patient. Nonetheless, gingivitis is a problem which should be addressed as soon as possible before it progresses to a more destructive condition called as periodontitis.
Please visit your dentist as soon as possible for a proper examination.
