Gestational Diabetes
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and it's my first pregnancy. 166 was my sugar level when blood test was done at 5th week. Doctor has asked me to consume glycomet sr 500 mg twice a day. Is it ok to consume such high dosage. Will my baby be affected by the tablet. Will there be any risks during my labour? Also how do I know if its gestational or pre pregnancy diabetes. My weight is 81kgs and height is 5.2. my parents are diabetic and my sister had gestational diabetes during her second pregnancy. Any chances that I'll be diabetic forever. And will my baby be diabetic forever? I'm so much worried.

Take the medications as prescribed. Strict sugar control is vital in pregnancy to avoid fetal anomalies.
