Geographic tongue is a common, harmless condition where patches on the tongue change shape and location over time. It isn't an infection, and its exact cause isn't fully understood, so taking vitamin tablets for a year without change is actually expected, since vitamin deficiency isn't usually the real driver.
Next Steps
It generally doesn't need treatment unless it's painful, and avoiding spicy, acidic or very hot foods helps during a flare. Please see a dentist or physician, who can confirm this on examination and rule out other tongue conditions.
Health Tips
Get it checked sooner if a patch stays fixed in one spot for weeks, grows, bleeds, or feels thickened.
