Kojic acid soap is a strong bleaching agent meant for face/body â using it on genital skin causes chemical irritant dermatitis (burning, peeling, rash). This has also disrupted the normal skin barrier, allowing a secondary yeast (Candida) infection under the foreskin (balanitis). The dark spots are post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from the skin damage â they will fade with time once the underlying inflammation settles. Stop all harsh soaps on genitals. Wash only with plain lukewarm water. Apply Clotrimazole 1% cream under the foreskin twice daily for 2 weeks for the yeast. Fourderm contains a steroid â avoid long-term steroid use on genital skin as it thins the skin further.
Next Steps
See a Dermatologist or Urologist for proper examination. Do not use any bleaching or chemical soaps on genital skin. Please consult me directly on Practo.
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
• Based on the information provided, it is difficult to suggest the most appropriate treatment without a proper assessment, as several skin conditions can appear similar.
• Kindly share clear photographs of the affected area in good lighting along with details such as duration of the problem, symptoms, and any treatments used previously.
• I would advise against starting any OTC creams or self-medication, as some products may worsen the condition or delay proper treatment.
• An accurate diagnosis is the first step towards effective and long-lasting results.
You may book a consultation for a detailed evaluation and a personalized treatment plan. I would be happy to guide you further.
You should avoid these medications otherwise it will be difficult to treat the original problem , steroids are very harmful for our skin so stop using ...for proper treatment consult dermatologist via chat or call
Please do not worry. Effective treatment options are available; however, management depends on the severity and extent of the condition. A detailed medical history is essential for appropriate evaluation and treatment planning.
