Gallbladder Cancer
My uncle diagnosed with gallbladder Cancer metastasis stage he is on medication.. According blood reports his Alkaline Phosphate (ALP) has reduced does it means the slight improvement in Cancer? Or does it means any reduction in Cancer growth? I have attached reports. .

Alkaline phosphatase is elevated here either due to biliary obstruction or bone metastases. If on chemotherapy, the disease will reduce and the values may come down. But we cannot take it as a marker of response to treatment or to day that cancer is reducing in size. If you can post details of the treatment given, CT scan and other imaging workup done, i can comment more regarding disease

Gall bladder cancer is one of the worst prognosis cancer in body. If spread to bone then alkaline phosphatase levels increases. Its better to do the blood tests in the same lab. If the levels come down, it means that bone is better. Metastatic gall bladder cancer is a bad disease. The levels can also raise if the bile duct is involved by the tumor.
