Gall stone
My wife (56) is found to have gall stone (one, 5mm). She had 3 pain attacks and 3 vomiting in last one year. Should she go for immediate surgery? Or some non-surgical method is available? If it is surgery then how urgently should it be done? Please advise.

Dear Sir, what I can gather from your question is that your wife is suffering from biliary colic.. If the attacks are recurrent surgery is indicated and is the best mode of treatment. It is not a emergency and can be done as a elective procedure. Non surgical treatment is available. But it is a long treatment. Will require years of taking medication to dissolve the gall stone and they may recur after stopping medications. Hope this helps. Regards.
