Hi doc
My baby is 1.3 years old and weighs 10.2kgs.
She had fever on 4th Sep 2020 which subsided by 3rd day. Now since yesterday morning she is having fever which sometimes goes to 102.5. Giving her earlier prescribed medicine (pcm nad meftal P). Paracetamol does not work that much, but meftal P helps to reduce fever. I want your help what could be the reason she is getting frequent fevers. Nor i or my husband have any cold cough or fever.

Greetings to you. ,Please talk of feedings first. The Baby has gained weight right. Do not over drug to get fast effect. Let the body work. It will produce immunity.. So plain Paracetamol 15mg /kg of body weight is the right dose..I hope I have sent .you right message . Immunity is not built up . Now go slow , most appropiate drug in right dose. Good nutrition plays the role. Give banana , egg, juice is good to produce taste .Hygiene, Immunization, and activity , and more of healthy emotional environment are essential for good immunity. Give sun bath , give massage. fresh air and ventilation .No arguments , abuses, or shouting is right . and elixer of happiness is the nutrition ., Prevent mosquito breeding to prevent malaria and dengue..

I got your concern
It may be fresh infection
At present
Focus to treat fever
Paracetamol as n when required
Give plenty of liquid and home food to maintain energy level and hydration
If symptoms not improving then connect pediatrician
As long as child's growth and development is normal then no need to think about low immunity
Thank you

Kids get frequent fevers sometimes as their immunity is less. This episode is difficult to correlate with earlier episode unless some tests were done and they showed a problem. Is she active? If active, continue same treatment. Fever may subside by 3rd day. We can do tests if it persists. Consult a pediatrician if fever persists or other problems occur
