I have got a fracture in my last finger but some of doctors has recommended for plaster and some has not ..can someone plz tell me

It's chip avulsion fracture of base of 5 th metatarsal.
Below knee plaster slab application is advisable.
Next Steps
Rest , ice , compression, elevation is recommended.
