Sir, i am female of age 47yrs. My left feet got twisted and got sweeling then i consult a doctor.he take xrays. He said that there is cracks in little toe of left feet. He plastered it and after 35 days he cut plastere and then again take xrays..he said that it is ok now and walk..but, when i see the xrays of before and after plaster, the crack is still in same position. I am in doubt he is fooling us. So, what should i do next..please tell me. I am providing the xrays of before and after the plaster.

There is a fracture definately. Avulsion fracture of 5th Metatarsal base. Option 1 : if there is no pain on pressing the fractured area- then wait for consolidation for another 3-4 weeks. Option 2: if there is pain on pressing the fractured area- then you may need operation.

Time required for fracture line to dissapear and replaced by bone is double the time of clinical union. Earlier seen in plain x-rays.
