Mrs Ganga has a wrist fracture, it will heal with a crepe bandage also if she doesn't exert her wrist too much. Although a plaster is a good idea. It will not only give support to the wrist but also give pain relief.
The pain can be managed with a good painkiller like dolo 650 twice a day after food for 5 days.
Apply diclo gel at knee and use crepe bandage if swelling is there.
Take vitamin d injection to help her bone heal faster as in old age healing slows down.
She will be fine in a few weeks. Her pain will reduce after 2 weeks and bone will heal in a month.
There might remain stiffness in the wrist. Which will need stretching to release and can take upto 6 months depending on her ability.
The investigation required for injury to the wrist joint is an XRAY and not an MRI. Anyway, she will require a cast application or a wrist immobiliser application and rest to the wrist for atleast a month. Then physio should be started after a month to relieve the stiffness. Limb elevation and arm sling pouch application are advised. Consult your nearest Orthopeadic surgeon for a cast application
Next Steps
Do not use the hand until the pain subsides. dont massage at the fracture site
