Hi Sir/Madam,
My mother forgets nearly 8 years of her past due to shock that a person beats her. We take her to local doctor and had scan and they said nothing happens due to shock she forgets. She is taking medicine from 3 months but not remember yet. Could you please help!

Hello. Has your mother forgotten only the incident or has she been having problems with her memory since the incident? Did she sustain a head injury in the incident? If the injury itself was not significant (no loss of conciousness, no bleeding from head, ears or mouth, etc), then what you have described seems like a case of dissociative amnesia. It is a maladaptive coping mechanism of the mind to deal with a severe trauma or shock. Please take your mother to a psychiatrist who will be able to bring out the emotions associated with the trauma and with time, her memory will return.
