FILLING BETWEEN 2 TEETH
Hi, I got my tooth filled a week back, initially there was too much discomfort but with days it started improving. However i m still not comfortable with the filling and m not able to bite hard things on that side. Shall i follow up with the doctor? How much time it generally takes for the filling to be set so that it causes no discomfort. Please suggest.

There are two things to your issue. It is not clear from your question whether discomfort means pain. If it is pain you are referring to, it may be due to the proximity of the filling to the pulp. It can be determined by the dentist who treated you. Another common reason for discomfort after filling is a highpoint in the filling. If that's the case you get like a stony feeling when you chew and needs a little reduction of the filling.

Generally a filling which is deep will give rise to symptoms. For which reasons we will assess the tooth to be filled on the treatment protocols. Once the best treatment is given the patients generally feel comfortable . You may Practo consult for a detailed review and advice.
