If there is no fever on thermometer then antipyretics are not required. Only when fever is more than 100 then give paracetamol. Usually antibiotics are not required for upper respiratory infection unless there is a specific infection. Give symptomatic treatment . If symptoms still persist then sputum for culture and sensitivity can be given to know the specific cause .

If the symptoms of cold are present she should have antihistamines and antipyretics(only if fever is present). These following steps may help:
- Avoid cold food and water, preferably have hot food and water
- Don't skip meals have a liquid diet containing soups and progressively increase to solid diet as per how you can tolerate.
- Have food rich in vitamin C such as oranges to help build immunity.
- Drink plenty of fluids, drink 3 liters of water per day
- Do salt water gargling with lukewarm water thrice a day
- Do steam inhalation (plain steam) thrice a day and apply vaporub over your chest and nose
- Maintain good personal hygiene(Wash you hands regularly)
- Rest plenty, body heals while at rest
If the condition persists or worsens visit nearest ER at earliest
If sore throat is there it indicates inflammation.
Next Steps
Do chlorhexidine mouth wash gargles/green coloured bottle.
If no relief, start tab Amoxy plus clavulanic acid 625 twice a day
And tab diclofenac plus serratiopeptidase twice a day for 5 days
