Greetings Seek immediate medical attention for this child, as dark brown vomit can indicate bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract.7-year-old child vomiting "dark brown liquid" following a fever and stomach ache. This specific color change resembles "coffee-ground emesis," which is consistent with digested blood and represents a potentially serious medical situation. Other distinct possibilities for this presentation include a severe gastrointestinal infection, irritation or tearing from forceful vomiting, or the ingestion of dark-colored food or drink like chocolate.
