Most fevers in children are viral in origin and take 3-7 days to subside completely.
Give just steam inhalations for cold and cough and decongestant nasal drops for nasal block or increased cough on lying down.
Use paracetamol for fever and repeat every 4 hourly if required.
If not effective, and for fever beyond 103, meftal may be used, and repeat ONLY after a gap of 6 hours, otherwise sponge the body.
