Feeding problem
My new born baby sleeps straight 5 hours its is compulsory to wake my baby for feeding every 2 hours?

Try to wake the baby every 3 hours to make sure the baby is not sick. If he is active when awake, taking feeds, passing urine and potty and weight is ok,  there is usually nothing to worry. Visit a pediatrician for check up

Even though demand feeding/ responsive feeding is recommended, during newborn period baby should be fed every 2-3 hrs. Otherwise there will be decrease in blood sugar level and inadequate weight gain.

It is feeding on demand but after 2 to 3 hours you should wake up the baby.

Yes, the baby needs to be awaken every 2 hours to be fed be it night or day....Babies do sleep for prolonged hours in newborn period but make sure the baby is being fed every 2 hours.
