My baby boy is 30 days old and I am exclusively breastfeeding him. Some days I feel my milk supply is good, but on some days I feel that my milk secretion is low. Sometimes my baby cries as if he is still hungry after breastfeeding. He falls asleep while feeding sometime and is unable to latch sometime.
How can I know whether my baby is getting enough breast milk? If my milk supply is not sufficient, is it okay to start mixed feeding with formula along with breastfeeding? If yes, how should I introduce formula without affecting breastfeeding or my milk supply?
What can I do to improve my breast milk supply?
Firstly u have to take adequate water ,good nutritious food ,garlic to increase ur milk supply…

Weight gain, atleast 6 wet diapers in a day and adequate sleep after a feed are some measures that guide if the milk supply is adequate.
Consult your pediatrician or a lactation consultant to check for latch
Hello
Weight gain of baby, adequate wet diapers, adequate sleep are few measures to know if baby’s growth is appropriate. Regarding milk supply, you need to include everything without any restrictions to your diet. Take the help of your paediatrician or lactation consultant to see if baby is latching well, the more baby latches your milk supply will increase. Inorder to start formula feeds share your concern with your paediatrician to decide if required.
Weight gain is the appropriate measure . Breastmilk secretion will be more in night early morning, and comparatively reduce in evenings.dont estimate ur supply based on one or two sessions of breast feeding of a day, U have to see the whole day collectively. Baby's cry may be due to various reasons not hungry alone and this is not the reason to start mixed feed. If u start mixed feeding only milk supply will reduce . More demand more suck from baby more milk production . Still if u need to give formula can top up after breastfeed
Next Steps
more suck from baby more milk production, and pumping , emptying breast can improve milk supply. have a balanced nutritious meal
Greetings
Signs of adequate milk intake include steady infant weight gain, at least six heavy wet diapers, and three or more yellow stools daily. Supplementing with infant formula is acceptable, but doing so without medical necessity can decrease natural milk supply due to reduced breast stimulation. If formula is introduced, it should be offered after breastfeeding to maintain breast stimulation. To improve supply, options include increasing nursing frequency to 8–12 times per day, pumping after feedings, and ensuring a deep latch. Consult a pediatrician or a certified lactation consultant to evaluate the baby's growth and latch before changing feeding routines.
Milk supply naturally feels different through the day, and falling asleep at the breast doesn't always mean your baby is full. Wet diapers, steady weight gain, and his overall alertness tell you more about how much he's getting than the feed itself.
Next Steps
Try skin to skin contact and feeding on demand to support your supply, and loop in a lactation consultant or your pediatrician before adding formula so it doesn't affect your own milk production.
Health Tips
If his wet diapers drop or weight gain slows, have your pediatrician check him soon.
