Hi. The fear of public speaking and what you are going through is a common phenomenon. If you really want to get better at it, practice can help and doing it more frequently can build confidence. But before that, you should address a few factors. Sometimes however good we are at the content, we forget all of it in fear and on stage in front of public. One way to avoid that is by training your mind on putting less focus on the public and more focus on the content. Try and concentrate on the content rather than the audience. When you place too much importance on the presence of an audience, it instils fear and makes us forgetful of content. Practice in front of the mirror. Rather than focusing on the consequences of a bad performance by you, focus on the consequences of a good performance. What worse can happen if you mess up a little? Be kind to yourself and do not feel embarrassed as not everyone is perfect.
