I'm a 23 year old female. 160cm height and 40 kgs weight. It's difficult for me to gain weight. I get digestive issues very often, cannot digest milk, tea, coffee and protein like dal and paneer easily. I want to gain weight to come under normal BMI. A doctor suggested taking protinex supplement but I'm doubtful if it will work. Please help. I've been thin all my life.

Hello ma'am! The main concern is your digestion capacity i.e digestive fire ( as per ayurveda) is weak due to which you are unable to consume milk and other protein.
1st step to be to increase your digestion capacity through proper lifestyle changes and with help of herbal remedies and medicine.
Then gaining healthy weight will become easier for you. This also helps to keep your body nutritionally balanced.
Next Steps

Hello! As per your height and weight your BMI is 15.6kg/m2 which comes in underweight category. Gaining Approx 8-10kgs for you to come under normal BMI range. You will have to include good quality protein sources in your diet for a healthy weight gain. If you cannot digest diary or highly digestible pulses, You can try other protein sources such as soy milk, tofu or moong dal cooked well.

Hi
Good afternoon!
Sounds like you have digestive issues. You need to fix them to gain weight. Also test your iron, B12 and Vitamin D levels.
Right now protein supplement may not be ideal. If you want choose a whey protein isolate of plant protein to avoid lactose. Make sure it doesn’t gave any artificial sweeteners in it.
For weight gain include healthy fats and moderate amounts of carbs.

To understand your medical diagnosis, check with a physician too.
Also, a diet rich in complex carbohydrates paired with sources of proteins which is suited can help to regain weight. A thorough dietary recall is needed to examine the cause and to prepare a holistic Diet.
Next Steps
It is very important to check with the physician and a dietitian to understand the problem.
Pls send in your diet recall for 2-3 days and recent blood reports to be able to understand the issue .
In general increasing calorie intake from healthy proteins , carbs and fats along with a good portion of vegetables and fruits with daily exercise of 30-45 min including cardio , flexibility and strength training should help . Please take an appointment for more detailed case specific suggestions
It’s not about the protein intake. Problem is in the digestive system not in the intake. Batter to work on the issue instead of symptoms. Get your body analysis and constitution done and go accordingly. With the help of that you will get to know about the real problem and how to solve that
