Extraction site 1 day post surgery
This is what the extraction site looks 1 day post surgical extraction 2 molars 1 premolar. The 2nd molar site appears red having the clot but the other 2 have a white coating i hope its no infection?? Also can i do a salt water rinse now its 26 hours already.please help. Does the site look normal

Dear Practo user, The picture seems fine. Do not worry, just try to keep the area clean by doing warm saline rinses specially after meals. The gums will heal normally.

Hello Mam, the post extraction site looks normal. You can start lukewarm water salt rinse now as it has been more than 24 hrs after extraction.
Next Steps
While rinsing, hold the water on wound site for 1/2 to 1minute in each sip which will soothe the wound.
Health Tips
3 to 4 times a day rinsing for next 4 to 5 days is advisable. Generally it starts feeling normal in a week but wound takes a month to get healed completely.
