EXTRA TOOTH IN UPPER JAW
Hi , My son who is 7 yrs old has an extra tooth which has grown behind the other teeth in upper jaw. Does this need to be extracted or will it fall off its own ?

Hello, since he is 7years old it might be a permanent tooth which usually grow at an age of 6 7 years. So dnt be in hurry for any decision. And if permanent tooth has erupted and an extra tooth is present, then also you have wait till age of 13 atleast, because Extraction of that teeth at this age may harm permanent tooth which will complete its formation with roots at age of around 10 11 years. If u are ahmedabad based, you can take an appointment and we will check your son and will discuss more. But in any case dnt be hurry for Extraction without proper examination. Regards Dr Prakruti
