I am experiencing curvy lines black in colour in front of my eyes. They disappear when I try to catch. At present I am on bed rest so can't go to Dr, is it something serious

It appears to be a floater, which should not be cause of much worry.. Just look at a coloureds object and it will disappear optically.. Go for an examination under dilatation when you feel better. Sudden increase size, number of floaters; distortion or decrease in vision warrant an early examination

It could be floaters, have to dilated fundus exam to rule out the causes.
