My 9 months old baby had been admitted in local nursing home with the complaint of dysentery associated with blood and mucas. During treatment he was having monocef antibiotics and probiotics supplement and improved gradually. Firstly the bleeding creased flowing then the frequency of loose stool has come decreased. But after the discharge while he is in home the loose motion has started severely (16 times in a day) but the blood flowing is no more.
Currently he is taking taximo forte and probiotics
Previous crp level. 21 and now 5.54.
Doctor said that he would improve in course of time.
He is in this condition for 7 days. Currently there is no hope of wellness. Please help. should I wait or need further investigation to find out some major illness like ulcerative colitis or chrons disease.?

Hai
16 times a day is definitely diarrhea but if the baby is feeding well , active and passing urine 6-7 times / day then no need to worry . Diarrhea can be side effect of antibiotics also . Hydrate the child well with fluids / ganji / vegetable soup / coconut water . Continue ORS and ZINC syrup as it will help in gut healing.
Avoid outside food / oily food.
If there are any diper rashes - rash free ointment can be applied .
Next Steps
Continue breast feeding , hydration , bland diet , ors .
Zincovit syrup 5 ml for 2 weeks.
Good hand hygiene practice.
Health Tips
Fever / blood in stools / lethargy / less urine output consider consulting ur paediatrician
What kind of milk/dairy products is he on currently?
Next Steps
If the child is afebrile and active with improving CRP value then avoid cow milk,if giving, and lactose free formula milk (similac isomil soy infant formula) can be tried and see the response.
Continue probiotic for 3 more days.
