Esophageal cancer
My father is a esophageal cancer patient. Diagnosed in January 2019.chemo started in April 2019 and had 6 cycle of chemo. Last chemo was done in August 2019. Then from September 2019 radiotherapy started and completed in October 2019. All is going well and in the past every bi monthly report no signs of cancer in the body. But since October 2019 till date he has been having difficulty in swallowing food, sometimes aspiration happens and sometimes difficulty in taking breath. Advise me what to do as doctor has clearly said that there is no use to concern as everything is all right.

Hi. As Esophagus is an elastic structure post radiation, there will be decrease in elasticity. So it might be the cause for difficultly in swallowing.
Next Steps
Kindly get upper GI endoscopy to rule out post radiation stricture and if needed dilatation to ease the intake.
