Hi my son is 7yr old. He is a mouth breather. He doesn't have any infection... But breathes thru mouth. Earlier he doesn't get cold cough often. But now he gets cold cough often. Tried nasal sprays but still he continues mouth breathing... Now using physiomer nasal spray. Can u plz help us in letting know should v go for surgery or how long to wait for adenoids to shrink on its own? Will this affect his growth both physically and mentally? Pl help.. Thank you Dr.

Significantly enlarged adenoids with symptoms definitely need treatment especially if symptoms are of obstructive sleep apnoea. Usually adenoids regress in size after age of 12 years but may not happen always. My suggestion would be to go ahead with surgery as it will significantly improve quality of life
