Sir, was he having flu like symptoms also prior to this then it may be acute otitis media. Or if he had put something like match sticks or ear bud in the ear then it may be otitis externa. To diagnose it properly u should consult thoroughly.

Well ear pain may be due to cold that blocked the tube that is connecting from nose to ear.
So give decongestant nasal drop and Antiallergic medicine. This will give him relief
