Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT.
Yes, you can take Paracetamol (e.g., 500 mg to 650 mg) for ear pain. It is generally safe and effective for relieving mild to moderate ear pain due to causes like earwax impaction.
If the pain is more severe, you may consider Ibuprofen (e.g., 400 mg), which also reduces inflammation, but take it after food to avoid gastric irritation. Avoid self-cleaning or inserting anything in the ear.
Next Steps
Do not delay your consultation if:
• The pain worsens
• There is discharge or bleeding from the ear
• You experience hearing loss, dizziness, or fever
