Mucormycosis is an opportunistic fungal infection of the nose and paranasal sinuses. The mucor spores are normally found in the air we breathe but we are unharmed as our immune system is well equipped to deal with it.
In immunocompromised patients( e.g. Covid patients on ventilator, who are on long term oral or injectable steroids and multiple antibiotics, all these medicines, make the immune system do weak that these fungal spores invade the nasal and sinus mucosa and cause havoc by aggressively destroying even bone! This is the BLACK FUNGUS SINUSITIS.
It is only seen in severely ill ICU patients. Such patients need immediate surgeries to endoscopically clear out all visible traces of the fungi from their nose and sinuses. Subsequently, they need intervenous powerful antifungal infusions over the next week.
Next Steps
You need to meet an ENT Surgeon to clean up your ears on weekly basis as you are suffering from Otomycosis, which is commonly caused by another type if fungus called Aspergillus. Candibiotic war drops must be used daily 6-8 times to loosen the grop of the fungus over your ear skin and eardrum, to enable your ENT Surgeon to gently suction out all the fungal debris weekly till you are finally free if this infection.
