Dry Socket (Wisdom Teeth Extraction)
I had impacted wisdom teeth extraction on 28 dec, 2020. I'm experiencing difficulty in opening mouth fully and pain in jaw (chin) while. I've developed dry socket and doc has prescribed me meds to take. I have OPG X-ray taken after 48 hours of extraction and showed to many docs. Some say root is left inside while other say tooth is completely pulled out. If there is root left, is it large enough to cause infection or it may be removed in future?

Acc to xray you have provided no root fragments left in the socket. If you are experiencing excruciating pain from 2-3 days after extraction it is a probable case of dry socket which is very common in 3rd molar extraction case. The treatment of dry socket is not only taking pain killer but also to put obtundant dressing into the socket .

kindly visit the clinic .of it is a casevof dry socket doc will apply the dressing into the socket and pain will subside gradually.dressing Change should be done on alternative day basis until pain will be subsided.

As far as ur complains are concerned, these are mainly clinical manifestations of dry sockets ,u gotta take pain killer and antibiotics nd do copious rinsing with warm salt water atleast 10-15 days .Consult ur dentist ,whomever performed the impaction

From the xray, I don't think there is any tooth piece left to be removed. If you have severe excruciating pain on the extraction site, you better visit your dentist and he'll do the needful dry socket dressing if it is dry socket related issue. Some kind of pain and difficulty in mouth opening is normal after wisdom tooth removal which will relieve after few days usually.
