Do i need tetanus or anti rabies
Today i got bitten by rat In feb 2021 i took 5 anti rabies and 1 tetanus and 2 anti rabies dose in September 2021 after dog scratch . 1 tetanus in jan 2022 itself so do i need to take tetanus shot again and do anti rabies needed for rat bite ??

Hello sir, Antirabies vaccine is a post exposure prophylaxis ( after exposing to risk of getting rabies )against rabies . Usually rat bite won't cause rabies so antirabies vaccine not recommended. As u have taken TT injection in January, the effect can last for 6 months to 2 years so no need to repeat the dose

Your schedule of Tetanus vaccine has been hotch  potch. Please consult with me on Practo for the approved schedule of Tetanus vaccination which gives you immunity for 5 years.. Most probably you don't need Anti-rabies vaccine for rat bite.

You need to repeat anti rabies for rat bite but don't need a repeat tetanus as you have taken it 5 months back.
