Sleep is regulated by melatonin due to light falling on eyes at night secretion of melatonin gets delayed and hence sleep disturbances occurs. In this case if sleep disturbances are persistent even after 2-3 days and patient is on psychiatry medication, she might be getting relapse of symptoms if both treated early. Consult to psychiatrist so that for now she can be managed on therapy and medication later we for long term patient can be shifted on adjusted dosing of medication.

If your mother has been asymptomatic for long time and has stared to develop new symptoms or reappearance of old symptoms is observed, you should consider taking a psychiatric opinion. There could be possible deterioration observed in her general condition secondary to any recent infection, change of lifestyle or neuro degeneration itself which may need evaluation.
Next Steps
Sleep could be restored with Melatonin- a natural sleep hormone supplement aiding restoration of sleep cycle. But consulting a psychiatrist is advised in case of any dose readjustment needed of the ongoing medication.
