Disk herniation in L5 S1
Disk herniation in L5 S1, doctor is suggesting to go for minor surgery. Is it really required. Can it be resolved with medicines. He also mentioned that the slip disk is pressing nerve which is going to left leg. The reason for consulting neurologist is that my dad sometimes feel back pain and left leg not having sense. Please guide.

For spine diagnostics, MRI is necessary...Ensure that you maintain an appropriate posture while working or sitting or walking....Take frequent stretch breaks and drink lots of water...Discontinue using pillow while sleeping straight...Do not lift heavy objects, especially after bending down....Eat a healthy wholesome meal which should satisfy your minerals and proteins requirement...take over the counter pain medications.. Consult nearest spine surgeon they will do the needful.
