Hello
Diplopia is due to nerve palsy ....cause being age and diabetes
1. Establish which nerve is paralysed
2. Wait for first six months as there are high chances for spontaneous recovery in this period
3. If does not resolve in first 6 months then prisms or surgery will help her
4. Treatment is very simple with good results so please don't worry
