Digital BP machine
Hello docs... My doctor suggested me to keep monitoring ur bp... I am using digital omron bp machine at home...and check bp twice daily... Now I want to ask u is it reliable... I have heard that whatever reading comes on omron bp machine we should do minus( - ) 10 to that reading both systolic n diastolic... For eg if it comes 130/80 we should cut 10 degree...and actual reading is 120/70... Is it really so.. Someone told me no u should do +20 to both systolic n diastolic pressure... On omron machine... Plzzz help me docs...as u r all experienced... Which one is correct... ( -10 ) or (+ 20) to the reading ... Im really worried my bp comes 110/82 always on omron...

No manufacturing unit is good or bad, it is that single unit you buy may be good or bad. Omron has been in existence for more than 20 years. If all their machines were bad and needing correction in their reading, the company would have packed up. So you should try to maintain your BP. Please don't seek shelter behind the facade that you have to subtract 10 mm from each reading (just because it is Omiron).
