Both the tests have their pros and cons. FNAC is cheaper and can be done as OPD procedure. Whereas tru cut biopsy reveals tissue architecture better and help in grading / typing of mass.

basic benefit of tru cut is that more tissue sample can be obtained which increases chance of diagnosis..fnac gets less tissues..so not preferred if we are dealing with a mass lesion
