Hello, As your brother has chronic pancreatitis he needs to follow a nutrient-rich diet that is low in fats and well-tolerated by him to prevent nutritional deficiencies which are very common with pancreatitis as there is malabsorption of nutrients that takes place. I suggest you connect with us for a personalized diet session as it takes into account all his details and allows us to guide accordingly. A few guidelines that can be helpful and you can take care of for him are as follows – 1.  Ensure he has 5-6 small and frequent meals throughout the day 2.  Limit the use of fats such as butter, oil, ghee, etc. 3. Opt for low-fat dairy products such as low-fat milk, curd, paneer, etc. 4. Avoid fried foods, processed, packaged and refined flour and its products 5. Avoid alcohol 6. Avoid red meat, egg yolks, cream, cheese, mayonnaise, etc 7. Whole grains, fruits, vegetables, can be given to him

Hi he should follow a low fat diet. White bread, pasta, noodle, Maggi and other refined foods are a strict no. Avoid red meat and organ meat. Stay away from commercial foods that contain trans fats, such as doughnuts, cookies, pastries, savouries etc. Fried foods, pizzas, butter, eggs, potato chips, and cheese should be avoided at all costs. Alcohol and smoking should be avoided. Avoid butter, margarine, ghee, full-fat dairy, and mayonnaise. The above mentioned foods are rich of fat which put pressure on pancreas for the secretion of pancreatic juices which may cause severe abdominal pain and may worsen the condition.
