Hi,
I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have hirsutism, slightly painful periods and acne as it's symptoms. So my doctor suggested to take Diane 35 for 3 cycles as a part of the treatment. But I heard that taking birth control pills for long term may increase the risk of cervical and breast cancer in females.
How far is this true?
If this is true, for what duration is one supposed to take the pills in order to avoid cancer? Is Diane 35 safe to use?

Don't worry,if you are having symptoms, take diene 35 for three cycles,it will regularise your periods and reduce your acne. For Pcod, do lifestyle modification also. Thank you.
3 months is not a long term
You have gathered wrong information regarding birth control pills leading to increase risk of cervical and breast cancer
You should get yourself vaccinated for cervical cancer
It's safe to use Diane 35... Don't worry about getting cancer, it happens only on continuous use of more than 5 yrs.. apart from taking ocp, have a proper healthy Lifestyle including exercise atleast 5 times a week, antioxidant rich food... Get urself evaluated for insulin resistance by getting fasting insulin, FBS done
