Dialysis kidney issue
My mother had creatinine level 6. After treatment she had been put on dialysis thrice a week. According to doctors her kidney has shrunk down from normal size. And hence they cannot do biopsy n tell whether it's AKI or CKD. Is there any alternative for dialysis as its hectic process for mother. She was working but couldn't now due to the same. Please suggest.

Hello There, If doctor has already concluded the Final diagnosis of CKD/AKI; and diagnostic tests showing the shrunken Kidney size then Dialysis is the only option. If Serum Creatinine level is going upto 6 again and again then it shows Kidneys are not working properly and need external support like Dialysis;  to throw out all toxins out of the body.
Next Steps
Continue Dialysis as per the schedule. Monitor patient's serum creatinine level.
