Hi ive been experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety and i was wondering if i book a consultation with a psychiatrist how long would it take for them to diagnose it and prescribe me with the right medication?

Hi there, It’s always better to have a detailed history from the patient and close contact.Not only the complaints from the patient patients but their behaviour as observed by the close contacts is important. Then the detailed Mental status Examination is also important to come the differential/final diagnosis. You can say, majority of the time … One sitting is sufficient for the diagnosis in such cases.
