Used metformin 500 mg SR for two years. Six months back HbA1c @ 5.5. Doctor advised metformin 250 once daily. Now HbA1c @ 7.0. Please advise medication. Age is 42. Hypertensive, using Telmisartan and cilindipine 40mg.

You can increase doses of Metformin to 500 mg twice a day if there is no contraindication to it like renal or hepatic dysfunction.
