Metformin Sr vs prolonged release 500
Does metformin 500 prolonged release and metformin 500 sustained release are same or different. Earlier I was taking prolonged release and now the pharmacist has given Sr 500. Is PR and SR are same or different. Kindly suggest.

While prolonged release (PR)tablets are meant to effect after some time from the moment they are administered and they are known to be released in small portions over a long period of time. Sustained release tablets (SR) are more of a controlled release.
