Ocd is when obsessions and compulsions are so severe they cause significant disturbance and distress in your daily life, work and relationships. Oc features is when you have obsessions and compulsions but they are not severe enough to classify as a disorder.
Many people have obsessive compulsive personalities with oc features but are able to function fairly well in their lives without much disturbances but when /if it becomes severe enough to classify as a disorder then treatment/intervention is necessary
Thanks for the question. Depression and OCD are two different diagnosis. Depression presents with low mood which is pervasive or daily for atleast two weeks along with lack in interest in daily activities. Other symptoms needed for diagnosis are changes in appetite, sleep, weight, difficulty in concentration, psychomotor agitation or retardation and sometime death wishes. OCD presents with obsessions like fear of contamination or symmetry and compulsions like repetitive hand washing or cleaning, organising things in particular order or saying silently prayers or mental acts to counter blasphemous thoughts which are obsessions. When one person presents with long standing OCD they sometimes get a depressive episode when they are not able to cope with the symptoms of OCD. So they now fulfill the criteria of both depression and OCD. Depression with OCD has all above features .
