What exactly is depression?? I have it and is on medication, but the way how i had it even i don't understand. I was sleeping and woke up at 3 in the morning coz if thunder.. From that moment onwards my lyf changed.. I couldn't sleep after that... For weeks then i consulted my psychiatrist and he said im suffering from depression.. But just a wake up can cause that??

Depression like any other mental illness has different causes and triggers. someone who's predisposed to mental illness because of its family history or personality can develop it after a trigger as small as it and this thunder or waking suddenly may have some association to some traumatic event of your personal life.
