Depression
My mom is suffering from depression after her dad's death and is not able to recover from it. Tried to take her to a psychiatrist, but all they did was to give her medication that kept her dizzy and sleepy all day. Is there any way to approach a doctor who can take sessions to remove the problem rather tham giving sleep tablets?

Hi, I can empathize with you...There are many evidence based treatment for depressive symptoms (as you mentioned).... Medications/ Cognitive behavioral therapy etc...See the doctor should change the Medication if not tolerable by patient..Also you should Consult a Psychiatrist and ask for CBT other than Medications... Feel free to reach us... Regards
