My father is suffering from Insomnia for a week and loss of apetite. He has started overthinking on petty things. Scarcity of hope. Please help me out.

Hello. I'm sure some undesirable thoughts must be haunting him . Please take him to a Counselor and let him express himself openly. Sometimes opening up to family becomes difficult. It's good to take help then lead easy situations into bigger problems. All have rights to feel sad , but there have to be limits set so that life does not get affected adversely.
Next Steps
Make him realise the importance of Newton a psychologist to ease him of his mental pain

Respected Clients, What makes him for sleep disturbance,low appetite and OVERTHINKING. Pls check is whether there is any depression for him, How many days he has this difficulty... What are all the treatment you went so far? Is all his biological measures are all normal. First rule out any biological dysfunctional through proper MRI or CT or master health check up. There is also possible of geriatric depression or onset of any Neuro psychiatric problem... Take him to general physician first and after which to an Counseling Psychologist and them to Psychiatrist if required...

Hi.... Exercise and stay active. Activity helps promote a good night's sleep. Get at least 20 to 30 minutes of vigorous exercise daily at least five to six hours before bedtime. Avoid or limit naps. Naps can make it harder to fall asleep at night. If you can't get by without one, try to limit a nap to no more than 30 minutes and don't nap after 3 p.m..... Stick to a sleep schedule. Keep your bedtime and wake time consistent from day to day, including on weekends.....
