For more than 6 years now, i have been going in and out of depression, and it has become huge block in my development and studies. I have so many behaviors i cant explain, i am unable to study (for last 6 yrs) because it is as if i am scared of anything productive. There is so much i want to do with my life but I am stuck. Used to be suicidal, but that is only when it gets really bad. Recently I have actively been trying to improve, which is why I am finally asking for help to a professional.

Hello,
I can understand the problem you are facing from such a long time. Recurrent depression can be due to thyroid, vitamin abnormality, bipolar mood disorder etc.. Sometimes we miss out hypomania episode as depression covers it. A mood chart will benefit you in that. Adding a mood stabilizer like lithium will cover your bipolar illness and augment your antidepressant treatment as well.
